Youth Services Librarian - Manchester District Library This is a part-time position (20 -28 hrs/wk) Hourly wage of $18.00/hour
Requirements
To serve families and school facility with outreach services, in-house programs, summer readings and special events for children, youth, and adults.
Enthusiasm for public service to all ages and specifically to children ages 0-17 with an emphasis on ages 0-12.
Advising with YA development staff.
Experience with integrated library systems.
Accuracy and attention to detail with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Flexibility in scheduling is required. This position includes evening and weekends throughout the year.
Knowledge of computers, Internet, social media, and emerging technologies.
Ability to design age-appropriate programs based on childhood development principles.
Strong commitment to customer service.
Ability to function in a professional manner, work independently, and use good judgment.
Enthusiastic, positive team player.
The candidate should be able to kneel, use the stairs, and lift 35 lbs.
Must possess MLS or be currently enrolled in an MLS program and have library experience.
Must work on-site. This is not a remote position.

Part-time Library Assistant Hours: Day, evening and weekend shifts. Part-time 8- 20 hours a week Hourly wage: $12.00-$13.00
Essential Job Functions Performs variety of library duties including but not limited to:
Works at circulation desk, checking materials in and out, processing financial transactions, and registering library borrowers using an automated library system.
Answers library telephone, assisting borrowers with circulation related needs.
Assist users in operating machines such as photocopiers, fax, scanners, computers, tablets, and smartphones
Responsible for accuracy in library user records; maintaining strict confidentiality of operations and records as dictated by the Library Privacy Act
Shelve books, empty book drop box.
May be assigned to interlibrary loan, cataloging requests or technical service area as needed.
Navigate website to obtain information on library and city events and services.
Assisting with programs.
Assisting patrons with computer, printers and photocopy machine.
Job Requirements Required knowledge, skills, abilities and minimum qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to take direction willingly and easily adaptable to change.
Positive, friendly and a sense of humor.
Ability to serve library patrons efficiently and effectively.
Proficient with computers, internet browsers, and MS Office.
Ability to communicate accurately, clearly and concisely in written and verbal formats.
Ability to lift materials up to 50 pounds; sit and/or stand for extended periods of time, push or pull wheeled carts, use a telephone.
Enjoy working with the public.
Experience with CARL.X integrated library system preferred
